Forget about not having God in the public schools. Now the leftist/secularist morons are going after Santa.

Santa Claus Deemed Too 'Religious' for School Fundraiser

By Randy Hall Staff Writer/Editor
November 30, 2006

( - A Christmas-themed event to raise money at a public elementary school in Warwick, N.Y., has been altered to accommodate a parent's complaints that the program would illegally spotlight a "religious" figure - Santa Claus.

"Breakfast With Santa" has since been changed to "Winter Wonderland Breakfast," and -- in an effort to be inclusive of all beliefs -- the bearded one will now be joined at the Dec. 9 event by Frosty the Snowman.

Organizers made the changes after one parent charged that she and others in the community were offended that the Parent Teacher Association at the Sanfordville Elementary School was sponsoring a program geared toward one religion. (complete story)

This idiot wrote a letter to protest a school fundraiser----will not leave her name----- and the school board caves in to this lunacy. Totally spineless board and a one individual can control the rights and privileges of the many. This is political correctness gone mad.

SIX SUNNIS BURNIN'.............

It appears that AP has stuck to it's guns on the Six Sunnis Burned Alive story:

"The attempt to question the existence of the known police officer who spoke to the AP is frankly ludicrous and hints at a certain level of desperation to dispute or suppress the facts of the incident in question."

(Translation: Pull hammer back-----aim-------and fire!)

"AP reporters who have been working in Iraq throughout the conflict learned of the mosque incident through witnesses and neighborhood residents and corroborated it with a named police spokesmen and also through hospital and morgue workers."

We have conducted a thorough review of the sourcing and reporting involved and plan to move a more detailed report about the entire incident soon, with greater detail provided by multiple eye witnesses. Several of those witnesses spoke to AP on the condition that their names would not be used because they fear reprisals.

The police captain cited in our story has long been known to the AP reporters and has been interviewed in his office and by telephone on several occasions during the past two years.
He is an officer at the police station in Yarmouk, with a record of reliability and truthfulness. His full name is Jamil Gholaiem Hussein.

The AP stands by its story." (AP International Editor John Daniszewski)

Michelle Malkin has some excellent coverage on this story here.

Powerline has a Meet John Daniszewski post up.

Mary Katharine Ham at Townhall has a great post up too.

I've been trying to get to Flopping Aces (who broke all this) all morning to no avail.

Global Warming Alert

Cold set to snap city record

Environment Canada says such low temperatures unusual for this time of year.

Dave Koiter bundles up to take on the task of wiping off his windshield yesterday as more snow fell on Calgary. Strong winds combined with blowing snow and frigid temperatures to create treacherous driving conditions throughout the city. (Stuart Dryden/Calgary sun) The arctic deep freeze trapping Calgary is on track to break a 110-year-old weather record today, but the bitter cold is expected to ease in the coming days.

With a forecast low of -31C today, Calgary could break the -27C record set on this day in 1896.
But factoring in the wind chill, it will feel even colder to people who have to brave the elements, said Environment Canada meteorologist Ross Macdonald.

"I wouldn't break out the shorts and go sunbathing right now," he joked. The frigid weather is expected to improve by Thursday, with a predicted high of -7C.

Certainly sounds like global warming to me.................... :)

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED

Dear Associated Press:

On Nov. 24, 2006, your organization published an article by Qais Al-Bashir about six Sunnis being burned alive in the presence of Iraqi Police officers. This news item, which is below, received an enormous amount of coverage internationally.

We at Multi-National Corps - Iraq made it known through MNC-I Press Release Number 20061125-09 and our conversations with your reporters that neither we nor Baghdad Police had any reports of such an incident after investigating it and could find no one to corroborate the story. A couple of hours ago, we learned something else very important. We can tell you definitively that the primary source of this story, police Capt. Jamil Hussein, is not a Baghdad police officer or an MOI employee. We verified this fact with the MOI through the Coalition Police Assistance Training Team.

Also, we definitely know, as we told you several weeks ago through the MNC-I Media Relations cell, that another AP-popular IP spokesman, Lt. Maithem Abdul Razzaq, supposedly of the city’s Yarmouk police station, does not work at that police station and is also not authorized to speak on behalf of the IP. The MOI has supposedly issued a warrant for his questioning.

I know we have informed you that there exists an MOI edict that no one below the level of chief is authorized to be an Iraqi Police spokesperson. An unauthorized IP spokesperson will get fired for talking to the media. While I understand the importance of a news agency to use anonymous and unauthorized sources, it is still incumbent upon them to make sure their facts are straight. Was this information verified by anyone else? If the source providing the information is lying about his name, then he ought not to be represented as an official IP spokesperson and should be listed as an anonymous source.

Unless you have a credible source to corroborate the story of the people being burned alive, we respectfully request that AP issue a retraction, or a correction at a minimum, acknowledging that the source named in the story is not who he claimed he was. MNC-I and MNF-I are always available and willing to verify events and provide as much information as possible when asked.

Very respectfully,
U.S. NavyMNC-I Joint Operations

This is the crap we have to put up with in a 21st century media that has no boundrys in their deception and lies. We will be counting the days for the RETRACTION, AP.

Ego Boosting at its Finest

The 2006 Weblog Awards

RovinsWorld selfishly nominated its Blog to the 2006 Weblog Awards along with my friend Dana at Common Sense Political Thought, (CSPT).

While I will be looking forward to a few votes from my "numerous" readers, I would suggest serious consideration for the fine work Dana, Art, Yorkshire, and company do at CSPT. Of course I nominated Dana's site under "BEST BLOG" category for the simple reason that there's no sense in not going for the TOP.

I will be posting the link for voting when it is available. That is all.

The JROTC eliminated by the SF School Board. (via Michelle Malkin)

Murtha makes his point:

In his first interview since reportedly calling a Democratic bill on lobbying and ethics "total crap," Rep. John Murtha told "Hardball" host Chris Matthews he meant it was "crap" to deal with ethics problems when there are more serious issues facing the nation such as the war in Iraq.

"It is total crap that we have to deal with an issue like this when we’ve got a war going on and we got all these other issues," Murtha said.

Kucinich Calls for Cutting Off Iraq War Funds"That’s the only way we’re going to end this war."

Nov 15, 2006
Congressman Kucinich called Wednesday for cutting off funding of the Iraq war, as the surest way out of Iraq. His statements were made in an interview by Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman.

"I want to say that there's one solution here, and it's not to engage in a debate with the President, who has taken us down a path of disaster in Iraq, but it's for Congress to assume the full power that it has under the Constitution to cut off funds. We don't need to keep indulging in this debate about what to do, because as long as we keep temporizing, the situation gets worse in Iraq.

Promises, promises Two weeks before Election Day, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada issued a statement promising Montana Senate candidate Jon Tester a seat on the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee if he could defeat Republican incumbent Conrad Burns. Such a win was crucial, Mr. Reid knew, if Democrats were to retake control of Congress. And while Mr. Reid didn't say exactly when Mr. Tester would be seated in the coveted chair, his pledge assured Montana's voters that the state wouldn't lose out on much-needed funding by rejecting Mr. Burns, who during his dozen years on the Appropriations Committee delivered hundreds of millions of dollars to the state. "This is big news," boasted Montana Sen. Max Baucus, a Democrat, who read Mr. Reid's promise at a press conference in Billings, Mont. "This is going to help Montana even more." Republicans who were quoted in the Billings Gazette the next day weren't buying Mr. Reid's promise. The newspaper even quoted Mr. Reid's spokesman, Jim Manley, as conceding that it would be "somewhat unusual" for a freshman senator to sit on such a lofty panel. As it was, Mr. Tester won a very close race. And yesterday, Mr. Reid announced his committee assignments for the upcoming 110th Congress. Wouldn't you know, Mr. Tester didn't make the cut. The Appropriations Committee will be chaired by Sen. Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia, who will be joined by Democrats Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii, Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, Tom Harkin of Iowa, Barbara A. Mikulski of Maryland, Herb Kohl of Wisconsin, Patty Murray of Washington, Byron L. Dorgan of North Dakota, Dianne Feinstein of California, Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, Tim Johnson of South Dakota, Mary L. Landrieu of Louisiana, Jack Reed of Rhode Island, Frank R. Lautenberg of New Jersey and Ben Nelson of Nebraska.

Color Me Humble

RovinsWorld will be taking a few days off from the cycle to get some needed rest.

Congratulations to the Democratic Party for a well fought race. May God grant you all the wisdom necessary to lead your party to help in solving the serious problems facing this nation.

The people of this nation have spoken and they are asking for change and a new direction.

They have also said they are tired of the way business is conducted in Washington. Let's all hope these changes will be positive direction for America.......Still the home of the brave.

Gut Check Time

Mainstream Media Distortions
( - U.S. media coverage of Iraq was so gloomy that during a recent visit to the U.S. the prime minister of Iraqi Kurdistan wondered whether the situation had deteriorated to such a degree during his absence that he should stay away.

"CNN International and [Arabic television network] al-Jazeera are equally bad in their coverage of the situation in Iraq," Kurdistan Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani was quoted as telling a visiting group of Americans on Monday.

"When I was in the United States recently and read the negative news in the Washington Post, New York Times and in the network TV broadcasts, I even wondered if things had gotten so bad since I had left that I shouldn't return," he said.

These are the deceptions that have been the "playbook" for the liberal left. They will destroy this economy with their tax policys. They will not make this world safer. And they will spend the next two years going after a President that has kept this nation safe from attack. And that will be their shame, (if they do)

Saddam Hussein has been convicted of crimes against humanity and sentenced to death by hanging. The former Iraqi president was convicted by a Baghdad court for his role in the killing of 148 people in the mainly Shia town of Dujail in 1982.

"Long live Iraq! Long live the Iraqi people! Down with the traitors!"

More like "Long live my bathist Sunni Bretheren" who have persecuted the Iraqi people for a generation. Saddam Hussein could care less about the Iraqi people and this is just the first trial.

From MyWay/AP

Some feared the verdicts could exacerbate the sectarian violence that has pushed the country to the brink of civil war, after a trial that stretched over nine months in 39 sessions and ended nearly 3 1/2 months ago. Clashes immediately began Sunday in north Baghdad's heavily Sunni Azamiyah district. Elsewhere in the capital, celebratory gunfire rang out.

"This government will be responsible for the consequences, with the deaths of hundreds, thousands or even hundreds of thousands, whose blood will be shed," Salih al-Mutlaq, a Sunni political leader, told the Al-Arabiya satellite television station.

Saddam and his seven co-defendants were on trial for a wave of revenge killings carried out in the city of Dujail following a 1982 assassination attempt on the former dictator. Al-Maliki's Islamic Dawa party, then an underground opposition, has claimed responsibility for organizing the attempt on Saddam's life.

In the streets of Dujail, a Tigris River city of 84,000, people celebrated and burned pictures of their former tormentor as the verdict was read.

The death sentences automatically go to a nine-judge appeals panel, which has unlimited time to review the case. If the verdicts and sentences are upheld, the executions must be carried out within 30 days.

AMMAN, Jordan (AP) - Saddam Hussein urged Iraqis on Sunday to reject the sectarian violence ripping his country apart and to "not take revenge" on U.S. forces, his chief lawyer said after the ousted leader was sentenced to death.

"The message from President Saddam to his people came during a meeting in Baghdad this morning, just before the so-called Iraqi court issued its verdict in his trial," Khalil al-Dulaimi told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Baghdad.

Was Hussein for this violence before he was against it?

Update: Links: Check out Michelle Malkin, Captain's Quarters, and Art Downs at Common Sense Political Thought

Here's a teaser from Art's post:

A public hanging of Saddam Hussein would be an appropriate ending for a monster and is a form of ‘back to basics’ that might be adopted elsewhere. A certain squeamishness about public executions has denied the public the proper degree of closure. Television could provide a universality of coverage that would allow the less connected a view of how some folks pay for their misdeeds.

We have foolishly abandoned hanging. Done with a drop, it is a rather quick form of execution. As a mode of punishment, it long has carried with it a high degree of ignominy. It was once the fate of thieves. Many of aristocratic birth were executed in a more dignified manner, with axe or sword. There was a spiritual benefit to decapitation, in that the deceased was typically buried in consecrated ground and permitted a religious ceremony. For centuries, hanged felons were left to rot on the gallows until their remains fell, to be swept into a common pit with the residue of other thugs. Read the rest here

Blogger is Having a "Kerry Moment"

Blogger was moving so slow........I was about to abandon this post......but, it appears that our troops have got a message for Mr. Kerry (Jon Carry).

Update: It is now being reported that Kerry has posted a formal apology to all:

Statement of Senator John Kerry

As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop. I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended. It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

Senator Kerry, may I remind you that this nation HAS NOT been attacked in five years. We know exactly what your partys "winning strategy" is----CUT and RUN. Your party has no patience for victory, and that is what our troops expect for the safety and security of this nation.

Now you may take the rest of the week off............thank you.

update:John Kerry to the idiot troops fighting in Iraq-----"Don't expect an apology from me". "I apologize to no one"

Well, there you have it folks. From the mouth of some one who still thinks he should have been a President, when the "presidential" thing would have been to humbly say that he was WRONG to imply that our troops are idiots and only those that stay in school and listen to their professors of liberalized tripe will succeed in life.

John Kerry STILL thinks this is about him. This ego-centric moron, who has voted continuously against most defense measures to support our military, has single-handedly shackled the Democratic Party in the final week of these midterms.
