Bailout Achieved......Proud Moment in this New Socialist Society

Congratulations go out to our "new direction" congress that has managed to put their collective fingers in the whole of a dam while the sides are falling in around them. While the politicians can now go home, (and attempt to explain how this bailout is a "good thing" for middle America), regular working taxpayers have to be scratching their heads over what just occurred. Two weeks ago Pelosi and Reid "took a pass", (failed on a fourth and one for you football fans), on passing any energy legislation that could have opened up a resurgence of an industry that has been buried in environmental and special interest litigation for thirty years. Seventy percent of the folks in this nation were in favor of opening up offshore drilling and the "all of the above" inclusion of alternative energy ideas to get us off of the 700 billion a year dependence on foreign supply. Where was the outrage in the mainstream media? They were too busy wondering if Sarah Palin is not elite enough to fit their warped view of a new socialist America. With the prices at the gas pumps still sucking the hard earned dollars out of our pocket books, our government, (yes, from Bush all the way down to the last staff member in both houses) shoves another 700 billion dollar tax bill down the throats of the electorate. And now they're coming home to ask for your vote. The "restructuring" of the financial markets should be preceded by an over-all restructuring of the mentality in Washington that has returned us to the welfare status of the Carter years. And to think it only took two years of Democrat control to get us into a condition of relying on the government for our every need. (Conservatives also have contributed to this run-away spending in the name of social equality that has put the fiscal burden on the backs of the taxpayers.) When does it end? Maybe a financial breakdown on Wall Street would be a healthy way for all of these big spenders to get back to where they can live within the means of real capital without the governments "extension of credit" / BAILOUT. When your legislators come home, let them know that you're not very proud of any "accomplishments" they plan to brag about------there aren't any.

Why the Deal was never a deal----------

Timeline: Thursday, September 25th (sometime in the middle of the day)

Six Democrat Leaders step up to the cameras and a slew of reporters. Without even consulting or even asking House Republicans if they had ANY input into this financial crisis, these dipshit six stake their claim that "we have a deal". While not following the Dems favorite style of governing, (by reading the polls of the electorate and "us common folks") ----- and totally ignoring a body of House Republicans that were collectively united in their resolve to NOT rush this proposal, (and had some ideas of their own on how to fix this mess), these SIX ARROGANT DEMOCRATS precluded themselves by making the bold, (and erroneous) statement that "We have a deal".

On the political side, our mainstream media morons and many Democrats are attempting to frame this stalemate as a McCain induced debacle. Nothing could be further from the truth. John McCain was probably on board with the Bush/Paulson/Dem-majority plan until he was made aware that the House Republicans were being shut out of the process AGAIN. This has been standard procedure ever since the Democrats took over the House and the Queen Bee, (Nancy Pelosi) and her "new direction" fantasy. When ANY major legislation is introduced in the House, Republicans are not allowed to offer amendments, offer any alternative bill, and all "rules" are suspended. Compromise is not even considered. So much for reaching across the isle to reach a consensus.

With the overwhelming majority of the electorate, (and the "folks"), on the side of the House Republicans on this issue of an unrestricted and unfettered bailout to a bunch of greedy fat-cat bankers, speculators, and hedge funders, Ms. Pelosi and the Democrats are the ones who are in the corner of the room knee deep in doo doo. It might be advisable for them to listen, (for a change), to the taxpayers of this country------and the not-so-silent House Republicans that are doing their job-------representing those "folks" that elected them.

Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., said the White House meeting was thrown off course when participants were blindsided by a new "core agreement" that emerged in the meeting that not many had seen before.

Charlie Gasperino (spellcheck last name) on CNBC this morning: "The average folks don't understand this crisis". Yes Charlie, they really do!

When one Democrat leader was being interviewed on CNBC this morning, the question was asked, "what are your emails looking like on the support for this bailout?". Answer: 50/50 ----- 50% NO----50% HELL NO.

Unchecked Rumor: Democrats had inserted into the plan that 20% of the funds returned from the bailout would be allocated to a housing fund. And Acorn was mentioned as a benificerary in this??????

UPDATE: Ed Morrissey at Hot Air thinks we’re having a financial crisis in ten minutes. Ed also substantiates the Acorn addition to the bailout.

McCain Suspends Candidacy.........MSM, Liberals Hardest Hit

Which of these two actions would you call leadership: Having a House Majority Leader claiming that restoring the ban on offshore drilling is a top priority next year, or having a Presidential candidate suspend his campaign to return to his job in Washington to help prevent the nations biggest financial crisis since the great depression?

Yesterday, over strong objections from the Obama camp and the mainstream media, John McCain decided to suspend his campaign to focus all of his energy and leadership qualities on the nations critical financial crisis that could send this country, (and possibly the world), into economic chaos. Once again, the Maverick has proven that "putting his country first" is not just a campaign slogan, but, by his actions, has shown the leadership that can certainly be called Presidential.

Meanwhile, the liberal mainstream media climbed on board the mantra that McCain's actions throws their schedule of manipulating the Presidential campaign into further chaos. While McCain is insisting that both sides of the isle must come together to put a non-partisan bill together to solve a national crisis, Obama and his whining band of cohorts are crying about a postponed debate that was supposed to have been held in Mississippi on Friday with the subject of the debate on foreign policy and national security issues. It should be mentioned that, since the end of the primarys, McCain has invited Obama to join him in numerous town hall debates, (where the general public would be allowed to ask questions), and Obama has declined.

With congress rejecting the initial White House and Paulson proposition, this nation would be best served if Barack Obama and John McCain resumed their jobs in Washington to pass this bill. Critical provisions need to be written into this bill to protect the taxpayers from inheriting a burden that our children and grandchildren would have to pay. Oversight, and yes, regulatory measures must also be written into this legislation to prevent these run-away practices of granting unsecured and unqualified loans. "Finger pointing" and fixing the blame on who caused this crisis must be put on hold to allow a bipartisan resolution to put the financial sector of our economy back on track. John McCain knows where his priorities are when a crisis arises of this magnitude by putting his campaign on hold and putting the needs of his country first. If the liberal mainstream media and Barack Obama don't understand this form of leadership, maybe they should go back to the drawing boards to examine who comes first.

Update: Bill Clinton agrees with McCains "good faith" in pulling out of debate. (via Hot Air)

Historic Bailout---Confusion, Doubts Abound.....

After a full day of testimony to the Senate Banking Committee, Paulson and Bernanke, (and Cox) left many of the electorate in a state of confusion and frustration over the proposed 700 billion bailout of the financial sectors of Wall Street. As more information comes to light how the markets got into this mess, the public has become more inflamed over the total lack of regulation and oversight while unchecked financial institutions fed on the freewheeling practice of supplying unsecured and ill-advised home loans to millions of unqualified buyers. Now these same irresponsible institutions are claiming that they have so much unsecured debt they are in no position to extend further credit while teetering on becoming insolvent/bankrupt. What to do?

For starters, most everyone agrees that a 700 billion dollar blank check written to the Treasury Department with little or no restrictions or oversight will not fly. The problem that lies ahead is how much our politicians plan to add to the bailout without literally killing the bill with their own petty provisions and restrictions. Make no mistake, both sides of the isle see the control of 700 billion, (and the power that comes with this responsibility) as an opportunity not seen since the institution of Social Security.

But let me digress for a moment. This photo posted above is about as repulsive to me as the whole financial debacle. Why a news outlet would post a photo-op with the two most inept politicians ever put in charge of our legislative branch of government gives me a moment of pause----right before nausea sets in. While rating as the worst congressional leaders in the history of this nation, Reid and Pelosi have the gall to stand in front of an adoring liberal press as some kind of saviors of our bank accounts. After literally telling the American electorate last week that our ENERGY CRISIS is not relevant to this country's current liability and reliance on a 700 billion a year transfer of wealth to foreign governments, these two pathetic excuses for leaders of their party should be impeached and run out of Washington in disgrace. Two years of total control as Speaker of the House and the best Pelosi can come up with concerning our energy independence is "I'm trying to save the planet". Can we have an Al Gore hallelujah and pass the carbon credits? This liberal socialist/marxist mentality is choking this nations ability to remain the industrial and economic leader of the free world. The fact that this nation allowed an Iranian President to step on our soil and threaten our sovereignty and the worlds stability should be reason enough to advance our resolve to become energy independent.

Is there plenty of blame to pass around for the current financial crisis on both Democrats and Republicans? You bet. Many would love to tell the banks and financial institutions that passed out home mortgages like candy to "eat shit and die", (edit for publication), but the reality is without the bailout of the financials the taxpayers and future homeowners and the overall economy will likely cost billions more with no end in sight. But with close to two years of control of the House and the Senate and over 600-plus oversight hearings to bring down the Bush Administration, many could ask where was the oversight of our financial institutions? This nation can ill afford a Democrat controlled Presidency along with control of the House and Senate that would go unchecked with their socialist policies and agendas that would return us to a welfare state that Carter embraced. It's time to send the Democrats failed policies packing. It's time to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin to provide sanity and solvency again to a nation hungry for real leadership with fiscal and national security policies that will keep this country "the greatest nation on God's green earth". (Medved) The alternatives are a recipe for disaster.

Cavuto Takes O'Reilly To The Woodshed

Pelosi----House Democrats Pass Embarrassing Energy Bill

Sham bill said to be one of the most embarrassing pieces of legislation produced by this "new direction" House of Representatives.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats released their one-sided Energy Bill to the rest of the House on Monday at 9:30pm for debate and passage to be completed yesterday, Tuesday Sept. 15th. There were no hearings and no amendments allowed by the Republican party and yet she called the bill a bi-partisan comprehensive energy bill.

Last week Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) was skeptical of the upcoming legislation:

"But Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) criticized the approach taken by Pelosi, which he said amounted to shutting the minority out of the process. And he hinted that he and other GOP leaders will attempt to vilify the bill as purely partisan.

"We’ll see what she has," Blunt said. "But you seldom get a compromise when you don’t talk to a single member of the other side."

It turns out Blunts worst fears were realized:

The bill was passed by a vote of 236-189. Thirteen Democrats also voted against the bill.

Most Republicans opposed the bill because it would allow new oil drilling only between 50 and 100 miles offshore. Democrats know that according to specialist, the bulk of the offshore oil reserves are inside this 50 mile limit.

Even before the House vote, the White House said President Bush was prepared to veto the measure should it reach his desk. An administration statement said the bill would "stifle development" of offshore energy resources by essentially making permanent drilling bans within the 50-mile coastal buffer, while imposing new taxes on the largest oil companies.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the bill "represents a new direction in energy policy" and a "bold step forward that will end our dependence on foreign oil" by using billions of dollars collected in taxes on large oil companies to promote alternative fuels and energy efficiency.

Republicans called the drilling measure a ruse to provide political cover to Democrats feeling pressure to support more drilling at a time of high gas prices.

"How much new drilling do we get out of this bill? It's zero. Just zero," declared House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio. "It's a hoax on the American people. This is intended for one reason ... so the Democrats can say we voted on energy." Link

Rep. Jeb Hensarling, a Texas Republican, shot back that the Democrats' bill is a "sham" and a "fraud."

"This is a bill designed to ensure Democrats' re-election, not designed to ensure affordable energy in America," Hensarling said.

Hensarling also complained about how the bill was brought to the floor: "No amendments, no substitutes, no committee hearings. Is this democracy? No." Link

One Republican legislator said you could get more energy by burning this legislation than what's in it.

So there you have it. The American electorate has been told by Pelosi and the Democrats you can forget about your precious energy independence. Pelosi never had any intention of passing anything that moved this country toward energy independence. Her scam of claiming they passed an energy bill is just that----a scam. And she's relying on your ignorance.

I believe it's time to begin an impeachment process to remove Nancy Pelosi from her throne for putting this nation on a path of national security disaster. You're a embarrassing joke Ms. Pelosi and we're not going to take your obstruction any longer.

From Paul at Powerline

An argument McCain wins:

"Over the weekend, I saw on several occastions an Obama campaign ad attacking John McCain's credentials as a reformer by pointing out that lobbyists occupy key positions in his campaign. The ads are classic "guilt" by association attacks, and their effectiveness against a candidate known to much of the public as a maverick reformer and a war hero is likely to be limited. On the other hand, with Obama apparently now trailing McCain, he has little choice but to go negative with ads of this sort that seek to peck away at McCain's image."

"However, today comes word that, with the exception of Chris Dodd, Barack Obama received the most money of any member of Congress in campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, a total of $126,000 plus change. John McCain is well down the list at around $22,000."

"If the choice is between a candidate whose aides make money by lobbying for various big industries and a candidate who himself benefits through contributions from an industry that Congress failed to keep an eye on, to the well-publicized detriment of taxpayers, it's pretty clear who wins that argument." Say a prayer for the folks in the Southeast tonight.........
Hubris in the Elite Media

Hubris, thy name is any media journalist. Alessandra Stanley, (in an article published in the International Harold Tribune), sets the perfect example of hubris in an industry so arrogant that they truly believe the sun rises and sets at their beckoning call. It is scary to think that the media believes that with a few strokes of the keyboard, they can shape the worlds view into their petty bubble of a perceived agenda. The elite media actually believe they are all “Woodwards and Bernsteins”----their anointed “Prophets of Journalism”----writing and broadcasting like they were parting the Red Sea or etching the Commandments in stone.

“Gibson, who sat back in his chair and wriggled his foot impatiently, had the skeptical, annoyed tone of a university president who agrees to interview the daughter of a trustee, but doesn't believe she merits admission.”

Here, Mz. Stanley frames Charlie Gibson as the scholarly professor whose journalistic skills and wisdom rises above the PTA mom that conquered Alaska while the rest of the world waits for its turn.

Governor Sarah Palin would be well advised to use caution when doing these interviews with our esteemed media that will pick apart and parse any portion of her statements to fit their misanthropic solipsism. The ethics and integrity of the profession has slithered into the gutter of liberal socialism, and by the “Prophets”, they will shape the world into their own image-----one conservative hockey mom at a time.

Never Forget
On this day, seven years ago, the security of this nation was rocked from its foundation by an ideology that threatened the liberty and freedom that so many of us took for granted. The threat did not come from any one nation or military force that had any distinction or uniform, but a well organized group of Islamic militants who’s soul purpose is to end our way of life by any means necessary. Their Caliphate does not recognize or use conventional rules of engagement. Collateral damage is not considered relevant under their rules and no life is more sacred to their cause. They are a determined enemy of western civilization, and yet today they have been marginalized by a more determined resolve with more than four thousand souls who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and thousands more who have been permanently injured. Three thousand Americans perished on 9-11-2001 and our Commander in Chief has been determined to not allow this tragedy to happen again on our shores. Strategist say there is a probability of an attack of this magnitude, (or worse), happening again in the near future, but apparently not on George W. Bush's watch. We can all pray that our next President does not take our enemies for granted, or allow our defenses to relax into another false sense of security. In a short seven years, this nation has liberated two nations from tyranny and on fragile ground they have become allies to the west. We must not allow this success to fail by any means that would allow our enemies to re-group in strength. Too many have paid the ultimate price to get to this point in a fight we are winning. Only John McCain seems to understand this resolve with little submission. All other challengers appear to be using these wars to advance their political stature with little or no regard for our national security. Simply bringing all of our troops home will not put an end to the threat that will surely follow us back to our shores. Let us never forget that fateful day of Sept. 11th. And we should have the resolve to not let it happen again.

Palin Hits a Grand Slam

"But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country."

"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."

Sara Palin hit a grand "slam" tonight by showing this nation that she has the grit to take on the establishment and put this country on the track to energy independence while putting John McCain above the rhetoric of the party of defeatism and government dependency. With this kind of leadership, community planners need not apply.

Bill O'Reilly is getting played like a worn out fiddle by excepting Barack Obama's commitment to be on the O'Reilly Factor (THE NO SPIN ZONE) on the same night that John McCain ( A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE) is speaking before the nation. This is unprecedented by any media to give a competitor a forum on the same night and Bill O'Reilly is swallowing this hook, line, Obama's bullshit right down O'Reillys throat. If Roger Ailes and O"Reilly had any class they would tape-delay the interview for the next day. Bill O'Reilly is getting duped by Obama and is too dumb to realize it.

If O'Reilly airs this interview ANYTIME on Thursday night, I will boycott Fox News and the entire organization and their advertisers.

Newt Gingrich Challenges MSNBC Reporter on the Floor of the Convention:

Even the crickets could not be heard because their mouths were full of popcorn.

Thompson Blast Democrats, Congress, Obama

"To deal with these challenges the Democrats present a history making nominee for president.

History making in that he is the most liberal, most inexperienced nominee to ever run for President. Apparently they believe that he would match up well with the history making, Democrat controlled Congress. History making because it’s the least accomplished and most unpopular Congress in our nation’s history"

Some Washington pundits and media big shots are in a frenzy over the selection of a woman who has actually governed rather than just talked a good game on the Sunday talk shows and hit the Washington cocktail circuit. Well, give me a tough Alaskan Governor who has taken on the political establishment in the largest state in the Union -- and won -- over the beltway business-as-usual crowd any day of the week.

Let’s be clear ... the selection of Governor Palin has the other side and their friends in the media in a state of panic. She is a courageous, successful, reformer, who is not afraid to take on the establishment.

Sound like anyone else we know?

She has run a municipality and she has run a state. And I can say without fear of contradiction that she is the only nominee in the history of either party who knows how to properly field dress a moose ... with the possible exception of Teddy Roosevelt......Fred Thompson

While the media bias is in full throttle with slander and vile attacks on Governor Palin, (a woman who has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined), the Democrats may want to return to Denver to find another candidate who can shovel snow and field dress a moose. The only thing Obama is shoveling is the dirt in the grave the DNC and the media has dug for him. When Sarah Palin finishes her speech tonight, all that will be needed for the Democratic Party is a proper headstone.
